That teachers simply &#8220;turn students loose&#8221; on a project, and sit back and drink tea.<\/p>\n<p>The truth couldn&#8217;t be more different.<\/p>\n<p>Teaching becomes more personal, more centered on students&#8217; needs, and interests. Less tea, more action.<\/p>\n<p>What does this look like? It might look like small group or one-on-one direct instruction. It might look like blended learning. It might look like collaborative problem solving. But in all cases, it&#8217;s based on the underlying belief that all students can learn, at their own pace, in their own way.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Food for thought<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There are lots of ways to scaffold students&#8217; participation and self-direction.
