{"id":4684,"date":"2015-01-28T10:42:01","date_gmt":"2015-01-28T14:42:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tiie.w3.uvm.edu\/blog\/?p=4684"},"modified":"2016-02-28T14:17:23","modified_gmt":"2016-02-28T18:17:23","slug":"making-time-lapse-videos-with-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tiie.w3.uvm.edu\/blog\/making-time-lapse-videos-with-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Making time lapse videos with students"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 dir=\"ltr\">Using Lapse It for Android<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tiie.w3.uvm.edu\/blog\/making-time-lapse-videos-with-students\/mitosis\/#main\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4694\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4694\" src=\"https:\/\/tiie.w3.uvm.edu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mitosis-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"making time lapse videos with students\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Students at Saint Francis Xavier school in Winooski used <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=com.ui.LapseIt&amp;hl=en\" target=\"_blank\">Lapse It<\/a>, a time lapse camera app to demonstrate the mitosis process.\u00a0 Mary Ellen Varhue, the middle level science teacher at SFX explained, \u201cin the past this would have been a poster project.\u00a0 Using Lapse It gave students a much better appreciation of the dynamic nature of mitosis as a process that moves from one phase to the next smoothly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Here are some of her thoughts on student learning, the app, and ideas for next time.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Student Learning<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cStudent engagement was very high for this assignment.
