Part 2: sharing\u00a0videos in Google Classroom, Drive, and YouTube<\/h1>\n

In Part 1, we looked at tools for finding and editing videos<\/a> to share with your students. But once you’ve found and marked up videos with polls or questions<\/a> or just a shot of your own sweet self in there<\/a>, how do you share these videos with students?<\/p>\n

Let’s look at three platforms for sharing: Google Classroom, Google Drive and YouTube.<\/p>\n

Share videos with your students through: Google Classroom<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Open Google Classroom and choose which class you want to work with.<\/li>\n
  2. In the bottom right of the screen click the + icon to add an Announcement, Assignment, or Question. All three follow the same procedure for sharing a video.\u00a0For this example we will use Create an Assignment.<\/li>\n
  3. Choose Create an Assignment. Give the assignment a Title and a quick Description.\u00a0From here you can attach a file, upload from Google Drive, Link to a YouTube Video, or link to a video you have found on the web.<\/li>\n
  4. Once you have the video you want click Assign. An assignment has now been created in Classroom that had access to a video. You could also attach directions, questions, or rubrics that relate to the video.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Share videos with your students through: Google Drive<\/h2>\n

    1. Open Google Drive<\/li>\n
    2. Select the video you would like to share<\/li>\n
    3. Right click on the video.\u00a0You have two options: Share with individuals or share with link.\u00a0You can enter the email or emails of people you would like to have access to the video or you can simple share the URL.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Share videos with your students through YouTube<\/h2>\n

      This is particularly good if you have a bunch of videos to share!<\/p>\n

      1. Sign into your YouTube account<\/li>\n
      2. On the left side of the screen click playlists<\/li>\n
      3. Click “New Playlist”<\/li>\n
      4. Then click Add Video. You can enter a URL or search for a video right on the screen. You can add lots of video to this play list.<\/li>\n
      5. If you want to share the videos (all of them) click Share. You can share by email or link.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
